Robert C. "Bob" Ditter

Robert "Bob" C. Ditter, 82, passed away on August 10, 2024 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born in Fond du Lac to the late Clemens and Clara (Oestreicher) Ditter.
Bob was employed at Tom Ottery Milk Transit until his retirement on January 25, 2021.
Bob played softball in Dotyville, shot trap and helped out at the trap house with anything from bartending to lawn mowing. He also liked bowling.
An outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed trout fishing and hunting out West. At home you could often find him rocking on his porch swing. He was always willing to help area farmers and neighbors with anything needed.
Bob attended the National Red Power Round-Up Show every June with his daughter Lisa. He was also the plow director at the annual Empire Thresheree and a member and former president of the Dotyville Drifters Snowmobile Club. He was a lifetime member of the Dotyville Gun Club. He spent 20+ years turkey "hunting" (watching) in Steuben, Wisconsin. Anybody who knew Bob, would say he could be a bull-shitter but also a good guy.
Bob is survived by his daughter Lisa (Rich) Ditter, son Matt (Vicky) Ditter; two granddaughters Brandi and Lacy, five great granddaughters and two great grandsons. He is further survived by siblings Carole Pagel, Harold (Clare) Ditter and Steve (Lynn) Ditter and sister-in-law Jane Boda.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his grandson Jessey Drew, sister Elizabeth "Betty" (Wilbur) Drehmel, brother-in-law Jerome Boda and nephew Thomas Ditter.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at the Eagle's Club, 515 N. Park Ave., Fond du Lac on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to thank SSM Hospital along with Heather and Cristi at Harbor Haven Rehab and SSM Hospice Home of Hope for making Bob comfortable during his last days.
In lieu of flowers, Bob's family would appreciate friends and family to donate a few hours of their time to be a volunteer visitor at a nursing home or rehab facility. Listen to these people's stories to keep the memories alive.
