Robert Del "Robbie" Dodson, 58, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Monday, January 8, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born May 11, 1965, in LaGrange to Donald Dodson, Sr. and Roseann (Shannon) Frick.
He had worked at J-Sil in Kendallville in his younger years.
Robbie loved the outdoors, from camping to fishing to soaking up the sun. He was a fan of Purdue Basketball, Notre Dame Football, the Dallas Cowboys, Fort Wayne Komets Hockey and NASCAR. He enjoyed all animals. He dearly loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Roseann and Robert Frick of Kendallville; a sister, Karen (Steve) Hicks of Pennsylvania; four brothers, Donald (Peggy) Dodson, Jr. of LaOtto, Tom Dodson of Indianapolis, Mike (Kelli) Dodson of Avilla, and John (Lanisa) Dodson of Houston, Texas; a stepsister, Robin (Frank) Straz of Murrieta, California; two stepbrothers, Scott (Cindy) Frick of Kendallville and Stephen (Annie) Frick of Winter Park, Florida; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his sister, Susan's partner, Terry Kinas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Dodson, Sr., and a sister, Susan Sipes.
As tragic as Robbie's death is to his family and friends, his family honored his wishes to be an organ donor. On Monday, he gave the gift of life to several individuals through organ donation and countless others through tissue donation, specifically to recipients 18 years old and under.
Celebration of life services for Robbie will be held in May, the date, time, and place will be announced later.
Preferred memorials are to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, 1005 W Rudisill Blvd. Suite 101 Fort Wayne, IN 46807.
