Robert Eugene Egge passed away on Mar 1, 2023 at his home in Newcastle, Wyoming. He was born to Joan (ne Bonsell) and Edwin "Gene" Egge on August 19, 1962. He attended Newcastle public schools and was active in many sports from a young age. Bob graduated with the NHS Class of 1980. After graduation Bob attended Casper College where he received his Associates Degree and attended the University of Wyoming studying Elementary Education. He was an avid Newcastle Dogie and Wyoming Cowboys fan.
Bob was a loyal friend and never met a stranger. He made friends wherever he went. He was known by many as Bobby, Fig, June and to his niece and nephew, he was always Uncle Buck. He would do anything for anyone, no questions asked. His friends in turn, always made sure he was doing ok and included him in many of their family gatherings. He loved to cook and especially loved BBQing for his friends. During all of his travels transporting vehicles across the country, he would buy things along the way (tools, jerky, sweets, gadgets, etc) and bring them back for his friends, their kids, coworkers, family, etc. What he didn't give away could be found in one of his vehicles, which often came in very handy!
Some of Bob's favorite memories were hunting with his family and hunting buddies. His love of hunting turned into a love of guns. If there was a fundraiser for Elk, Deer, Wild Turkeys, or the NRA, you would find Bob there buying raffle tickets and bidding on things that he was lucky enough to win on several occasions. Bob was a big NASCAR and Hooters fan and loved to collect memorabilia from both.
Family was very important to Bob. He attended many family reunions throughout the Western US and helped his Mom plan a few, which of course included cooking for the family. He had a vast knowledge of both sides of his family trees and enjoyed keeping up on what everyone was doing between reunions. Bob was devoted to caring for his Mom and Dad until their deaths in 2017. Bob also loved and treasured his niece Sara and nephew Garrett and was proud of their accomplishments.
Over the past several years, Bob found great comfort in the good friends that he made in Deadwood at the First Gold. He often called them his second family. We are very grateful to these friends for always being there for him and making sure he was ok if they didn't see or talk to him for a few days.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Edwin "Gene" Egge and Joan Egge. He is survived by his brother Gary (Ami), his niece and nephew Sara and Garrett, his extended family and his numerous friends, who he considered family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Weston County Senior Center, or charity of your choice.
As requested by Bob, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.

Bob was a kind and wonderful soul. Our time spent with him was always, delightful and full of laughs. He always had great stories to tell, and I loved hearing his past memories. I will miss his stubborn and growly moods, and being referred to as black penny. You will be greatly missed buddy, our paths will cross again. Rest in peace.
