Robert Eiben Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sperry-McHoul-Pichi Funeral Home on Oct. 23, 2025.
NORTH ATTLEBORO – Robert Matthew Eiben, 82, of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully with family at his side at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Ann Eiben of North Attleboro; four sons, Robert, Mark, Erick, and Michael; one daughter, Mary; and eight beautiful grandchildren.
Robert spent his entire life working to support others. From helping his mother Alice at the age of 12 to his retirement just three years ago, he was a loving and committed husband, father, and grandfather to us all.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to William and Alice (Shaw) Eiben, Robert took on responsibilities early in life. He held a delivery job as a young boy and later washed cars at a dealership as a teenager before beginning a career in the water industry at age 18.
Robert dedicated the majority of his professional life to the American Water Company, rising from mail boy to manager over the course of his career. During his years in Virginia, he was an active member of his church, coached Little League baseball, and participated in community events. He served as Operations Manager of the Alexandria, Virginia Water Department from 1977 until relocating his family to Massachusetts in 1987, where he managed the Dedham-Westwood Water District until his recent retirement.
In Massachusetts, Robert remained active in the Rotary Club of Westwood and took part in numerous community activities, including singing in his church choir. He especially loved performing in the Easter Cantatas.
His hobbies included gardening, playing cards, bowling, video games, and spending time with his family.
Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Sperry-McHoul-Pichi Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Interment will be private.
