Robert Endres

Robert Lee Endres, 86, of Watertown, SD, passed away on January 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.
A public visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2:00 – 5:00pm at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Private family service will be held per Robert's wishes.
Born on February 10, 1938, in Watertown at the family farm to Albert and Loretta (Haan) Endres, he was the 5th child in a family of 11. He attended Immaculate Conception Elementary and Watertown High School. Following high school graduation in 1956, Bob remained on the home place and continued the family farming tradition.
On August 26, 1961 he was united in marriage to Joan Barr at the Immaculate Conception Church. They raised their two daughters on the family farm where they made their home.
On August 2, 2003 Robert married Janet Twiss. He continued to farm until retiring in September of 2020. They enjoyed going on adventures throughout the United States exploring new areas.
In addition to his passion for farming, he was an avid conservationist and hunter; and loved to travel with his daughters later in life.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Twiss; two daughters, Mary Kay (Robert) Hoppe and Jane Meehan; step children, Chad (CeCe Santos) Twiss, Michelle (Mike) Meidinger and Bryce (Demi) Twiss; grandchildren, Frankie Dennis, Robert (Katie) Hoppe, Michaela (Colton) Hill, Christine (Hunter) Ward, Michael Hoppe and Matthew Hoppe; Kendra Meidinger, Dawson Meidinger, Emerson Twiss and Amelia Twiss; great grandchildren, Truett, Rhen and Julia Hill, Miyona Meehan, Eve and Trinity Dennis and RJ Hoppe; sisters, Mary Clausen, Pat Maag, Barbara Kienast, Kate (Ted Lambertus) Carter and Bill (Pam) Endres; sister-in-law, Joy Nelson and brothers-in-law, Marv Czech and Jerry Zuffa.
He was predeceased by his parents; father-in-law, Harry Nelson; mother-in-law, Carol Nelson; brothers, James, Tom and Nick; sisters, Maxine Czech and Anne Zuffa and in-laws, Vern Clausen, Lynford Maag, Barb Endres, Karen Endres and Cecil Kienast.
In lieu of flowers, Robert's family prefers memorials be designated to The Bramble Park Zoo (Lake Area Zoological Society) or The Beacon Center in Watertown or by planting of a memorial tree through our website. Thank you!
