In loving memory of our Dad, Robert Ernest Zimmermann, Jr.

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved father, Robert Ernest Zimmermann, Jr. "Bob" passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of 58, after a long and courageous battle with severe depression and the challenges that entails. Though his illness was invisible to many, its weight was immense, and we are deeply grateful for the love and support he received.

Born in Evansville, Indiana, on September 17, 1966, Dad was a lifelong member of this community. He graduated from Reitz Memorial High School and earned his degree in Economics and Marketing from Indiana University-Bloomington. He was a competitive swimmer, an artist and even raced in the Little 500 at IU-always pushing himself and cheering others on.

Dad worked side by side with his own father, Bob Sr., as a financial advisor for nearly three decades. He treated every client as family, forging friendships that lasted a lifetime. His selflessness and generosity were unmatched; he was always the first to offer help, never asking for recognition or praise. His greatest joy was being our dad. He coached our soccer teams, built theatre sets, taught us woodworking and photography, and shared his love of tinkering and creativity, especially with Robby.

He gave his time and talents to the community, volunteering for the WNIN Auction, helping to create the Hands On Discovery Children's Museum (CMoE) and working tirelessly at the Holy Rosary Summer Social.

Dad's love knew no bounds. He gave of himself to nearly a fault, always putting others' needs before his own. Even in his darkest moments, he remained steadfastly devoted to his family, friends and community.

He is survived by his father, Robert Zimmermann, Sr.; mother, Rebecca (Anderson) Zimmermann; our mother, Catherine; his children, Anna (Indianapolis), Robby and Maxwell; his cherished granddaughter, Ellie Jane Zimmermann; brother, Mark (April); nephew, Jacob; niece, Samantha; and uncles, Frank (Buzzy) Zimmermann and Phil Anderson.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Father Martin Estrada officiating.

Burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial contributions be made to the IU Foundation to support the IU School of Medicine-Evansville Residency Fund in Psychiatry (give.myiu.org), in hopes of helping other facing similar struggles.

Dad, thank you for loving us so deeply and for teaching us the true meaning of generosity and compassion. We will miss you always.

With Love, Anna, Robby and Maxwell
