ROBERT HENRY FAHEY, JR. of
The Villages, Florida passed away at home on December 21, 2025, after a long battle with kidney disease. He was 84 years old.
He was born November 5, 1941 in
Chicago, Illinois to Robert and Virginia Fahey. He was the oldest of three, with a younger brother, John Timothy and younger sister, Ann. The family moved from
Chicago, Illinois to Iron River, Michigan and then all the way south to Key West, Florida.
Bob was an athlete and enjoyed playing many sports. At Key West High School, he ran track, and loved playing football and baseball. He was also a little mischievous and enjoyed raising a little chaos with his brother and friends. After graduation, he made his way to St. Petersburg, Florida where he met his wife, Judy Fisher.
They met working at The Palms of Pasadena hospital where she had just started her nursing career and he was working in admissions. After an 8-month courtship, they married January 3, 1965 and began building their life together for the next 61 years.
In 1966, they relocated to Tallahassee, Florida and Bob continued his education at Florida State University. He was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity. He loved FSU and throughout his life continued to proudly wear his garnet & gold everywhere he went. While at Florida State University, Bob and Judy welcomed their first son, Michael. After graduating with a degree in Personnel Management, Bob accepted a position with Allstate Insurance Company and he began a 30+ year career as a Senior
Agent selling insurance for Allstate. He was first assigned to Titusville, Florida where they welcomed their daughter, Cynthia. Within a year, they moved to Cutler Ridge, Florida, a suburb of Miami, where their youngest son, Steve, was born. Bob committed his entire career to Allstate having never worked for another company all the way up to his retirement.
Bob's journey with God began as a young altar boy in Iron River, Michigan. His faith was strong and very important to him. As a dedicated Christian man, he had strong family values and used the teachings of God to guide how he lived his life and raised his family. As devoted members of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cutler Ridge, Florida, Bob and Judy lived their commitment to their faith through serving in many roles at the church. Bob was president of the Men's Club which supported the children's orphanage
and many other community philanthropic organizations. He also managed all the lecturers for all of the Mass'. For several years, he led the confirmation classes empowering the younger generation to live out their Christian commitment. His role evolved into becoming the morning greeter to the children who attended school at Holy Rosary. He loved that role! He and Judy also became Eucharistic Ministers serving the parishioners of the church. Through their commitment to service, they developed lifelong friendships
and a few fellow golf buddies.
Bob's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. During the 1970's, he was president of the local chapter of the Miami Jaycees focusing on teaching the younger generation leadership skills and business development. He had a passion for all things golf and often spent his weekends playing with friends and his two sons. As a member of the Greater Miami Golfing Association, his golfing trips with Judy and his closest fellow golfers took them to some of his favorite places at St. Andrews in Scotland, Ballybunion in Ireland, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Torrey Pines, and more, where the links often challenged his skills. For 25 years, he volunteered with the Doral Open Championship where he coordinated all of the Rover volunteers for the annual tournament. Bob also coached his son's and daughter's many little league teams for almost 10 years. Nothing made him happier and prouder than watching his kids and grandchildren grow and flourish. Their education was very important to him which is why he played a big part in supporting all of their schooling. Outside of his immediate family, Bob was very philanthropic and often gave financial support to local charities, including Boys Town Central Florida, as well as numerous international causes supporting children and their education in other countries.
Robert Henry Fahey, Jr. loved his family deeply. He is survived by his wife, Judy, children, Michael (Maja), Cynthia (Chris), Steven (Gabrielle), his grandchildren, Evan (Rachel), Sean (Alexandra), Amanda, James (Emily) and Emily, as well as extended family and many friends who will miss him dearly.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, December 29, 2025 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Summerfield, Florida, with a reception to follow at The Nancy Lopez Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys Town Central Florida,
