Robert Joseph Farris, 58, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024.
He was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on October 19, 1965.
Robert is survived by his wife Laura Farris, his children Bobby Farris and Jasmin Lopez and Alyssa and Adam Piccirillo, his father Edward Farris and his grandson Nathan Piccirillo.
Robert was preceded in death by his son Anthony Fraulo and his mother Louise Farris.
Robert went by many names, Bobby to his childhood friends and family, "Big Bob" to the friends of his children and Bob to so many loved ones as well. As a lifetime "Norwalker", Bob was special to so many people and his impact went far beyond his immediate family. Bob was so easy to love because he made it his goal to make everybody that crossed his path feel loved. There are so many other people out there that consider him a brother or father figure and that is because his ability to be a friend was so incredible that you wanted him to be family. Bob was passionate about those he loved but his passions went far beyond people. Bob graduated from Norwalk High School in 1983 and went on to become a certified mechanic after graduating from Porter and Chester Institute. Bob then took that career of being a mechanic and branched out into other professions. He was a tow truck driver and then became a Shop Manager at Hannes Precision Industry which he loved so much. However, he would always say that his favorite job was his years as a "stay-at-home" dad. He was incredible at that job, not only to his children but to his cats which he loved so much as well. He was a lifetime fan of the Yankees and NASCAR. When you needed to find Bob, look around Norwalk for the coolest General Motors (especially Chevrolet) vehicle and he was probably behind the wheel. At the end of the day, Bob was a fighter, he fought with good purpose, he fought for love, he fought for his family and friends every day and was the strongest person they'd ever seen. He was so loved and will be forever missed by many.
There will be no services for Bob at this time however there will be a "Celebration of Life" reception this fall. Details on that will be shared down the line.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob can be made to Yale New Haven Hospital.
