Robert "Bob" Fladeland, 89, of Minot, North Daktoa (formerly of Stanley, North Dakota), passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Minot, North Dakota.
Robert James Fladeland was born on October 11, 1935 to Lioneld and Ella (Jarmin) Fladeland. Robert was raised on the family homestead and attended country school until the sixth grade. He did his High School studies in Stanley, North Dakota; and being an excellent student, he graduated at the age of 16. During High School he was hired for setting pins at the bowling alley in Stanley. After graduating he was hired by Oil Field service.
Robert married his sweetheart Joan Skaar on September 13, 1956. He was then hired by Amerada (Hess) and they lived in various locations raising their four children. He still spent time at the family farmstead helping with the farming and ranching. Family time was spent hunting, fishing, and camping. After 35 years at Hess Robert retired and he enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, and camping. He always would lend a hand to his children's businesses shoveling snow and just cleaning. He always had an outstanding beautiful yard and a dry driveway!!
Robert is survived by his children; Charmaine, Daniel (Ginger), Brad (Michelle), and Debra; brother, Jack (Aneda); sister, Betty Olson; sister in law, Sylvia Fladeland; grandchildren, Darcy (Brian) VerDouw, Dawn (Bill) Springer, Keli (Josh) Bukowski, Josh Uran, Ashley (Jay) James, Fallon (Michael) Duchsherer, Nicole Fladeland, Danielle Fladeland; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Charlie, and Nolan VerDouw, Ella, Jillian, and Camille Springer, Dylan, Eli, Barone, Cole, and Jade Bukowski, Kayle, Kayden, and Keilana Uran, Laticia and Ashton James, and Marti Duchsherer; great-great grandson; Bennet Uran; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Joan; parents, Lioneld and Ella; brothers, Dorance, Arnie, Lioneld Jr, Donnie, Edward, Darrel, and Larry; sisters, Bertha and Mary.
