Robert Forrest Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Mar. 4, 2026.
Robert Craig Forrest, 73, of Holden, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

He was born September 9, 1952, in Poquoson, VA, the son of the late Robert Samuel Forrest and Peggy Lee Forrest.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Travis Forrest; one sister, Beth Roberts, and his stepmother, Lucy Forrest.

Craig made his living as a car salesman for over 30 years. He was proud graduate of Poquoson High School. Craig's zest for life shone brightly through his passion for the great outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he spent countless hours in nature. With a golf club in hand, he was the epitome of contentment, walking the green fairways and honing his skills shot by shot, a true sportsman in every sense of the word. His love for woodworking, passed down to him from his father, revealed the meticulous and patient side of Craig. He also had a profound love for the ocean.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Becky Forrest; one daughter, Ashley (Travis) Mason; one son, Zachary Forrest; one grandson, Logan Bailey; and one sister, Carmen (David) Melton. Additionally, Craig leaves behind his nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

To honor Craig's wishes, his remains will be cremated, and a small family service will be held at a later date.
