Robert Earl Foss

On February 25th, 2022, Beloved husband and father Robert (Bob) Foss passed away peacefully in Portland, Oregon at the age of 92. Bob was born February 22nd, 1930, in Portland, Oregon and was raised in Portland's St John's neighborhood, enjoying a pleasant childhood with parents Clarence and Violet Foss.
Bob graduated from Roosevelt High School prior to serving in the US Army. He was a Counter Intelligence clerk stationed in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean War. Later in life, he obtained an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Mt. Hood Community College.
Bob had three children with his first wife Mary, daughters Suzanne and Julie, and son David. Bob remarried in 1978 to Audrey Bloodgood (deceased). Audrey had three grown children from a previous marriage, Laurence (deceased), James (deceased), and Roberta. Bob and Audrey were happily married until Audrey's passing in 2016.
Bob had a long career with the Milwaukie Railroad as a Clerk, eventually going on to work for several Portland businesses as bookkeeper/clerk. Speed's Towing was one of his favorite bookkeeping jobs. Bob and Audrey also enjoyed working together as interim managers for several assisted living facilities.
Bob and Audrey took in three teenage foster children, Chris, Duane (deceased), and James all of whom stayed until they graduated high school. He and Audrey spent some time living in their motor home after retirement, working together as park hosts in State parks around Oregon.
Bob enjoyed listening to classical music, reading, and doing puzzles on his iPad. He volunteered at a local grade school mentoring and reading to children. He enjoyed happy relationships and frequent visits from his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his three children, sister Maureen, step daughter Roberta, one niece, fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
