It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Francis Fowler, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 15, 2025, in
Fort Myers, Florida. Born on October 3, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio, Robert was a man whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met.
Bob was the cherished son of Kenneth Leon Fowler and Frances Reta Fowler, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his eldest daughter, Jennifer Schoonover. He grew up in Dayton, where he blossomed into a remarkable individual who would go on to leave a lasting legacy. Bob graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1969, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work and dedication.
In 1974, Bob married the love of his life, Leslie Fowler. Together, they celebrated an incredible 50 years of marriage, a testament to their unwavering love and commitment. Their union brought forth four wonderful children: Nicole Kessler, Brian Fowler, and Adam Fowler, who continue to carry forward Bob's spirit and values. Robert was also a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Professionally, Bob found his calling as the owner of Bay Runners of SFL, a shrimping company. His passion for the ocean and fishing was not just a career but a way of life. Bob was known for his dedication and work ethic, traits that he instilled in his family and those around him.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Bob had a wide array of hobbies and interests that enriched his life. He loved fishing, shrimping, golfing, and spending time with his beloved dogs. Cars were another passion of his, and he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experiences with friends and family alike. Bob had a unique ability to connect with others, and he was always ready with a lesson to teach, imparting wisdom in a way that endeared him to everyone who knew him.
Bob's character was defined by his kindness and compassion. He had an infectious laughter that could light up a room and a gentle spirit that drew people to him. He was a man everyone loved, and his positive influence will be felt for generations to come.
As we gather to remember Bob, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life marked by love for his family, dedication to his work, and a passion for life. While we are heartbroken by his passing, we find solace in the many cherished memories we hold dear.
Bob will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his wife, Leslie; children, Nicole, Brian, and Adam; grandchildren; and countless friends and family members whose lives he touched.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 6pm-8pm at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home (4320 Colonial Blvd Ft. Myers FL, 33966).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Bob's memory by spending time with loved ones, sharing stories, and enjoying the beauty of nature-just as he would have done.
Rest in peace, dear Bob. Your love, laughter, and lessons will forever resonate in our hearts.
