Robert Joseph Freiberger, a dedicated and beloved member of his community, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Born on October 21, 1947, Robert devoted many years of his life to the Denver Public School System as office support personnel.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robert was a man of diverse interests. He loved to travel, with particular fondness for Old World Europe and Europe. As a devout Catholic he was drawn to the churches and their ornate architecture. His adventurous spirit was matched by his love for connecting with others; he thrived being around people and listening to their stories. As an accomplished acrylic paint artist, he won many judged competitions. He expressed his creativity with a brush and canvas, filling his life with vibrant colors and inspirations.
Robert also took pride in his musical talents. He played drums with many bands for numerous years and sang in the choir at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami, Oklahoma. His contributions to music enriched his life and the lives of many around him, revealing a deeply ingrained appreciation for the arts.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Arla Freiberger, his brother Jim and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Georgine (Werth) Freiberger and three brothers: Richard, Alan, and Gary Freiberger. Also preceding him in death was a sister-in-law Vanda Freiberger.
Robert Joseph Freiberger will be remembered for the joy he found in life’s adventures and the warmth he brought into the lives of those he loved. His legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor at 10 a.m., March 20, 2025, at the Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 140 Kansas Street in Springfield, Colorado.
