Barbara Freiberger Obituary

Barbara Jane (Jacobi) Freiberger, 67, of Floyds Knobs entered into God’s Kingdom on July 24, 2024. She was born March 20, 1957 to Beulah and Francis Jacobi.

She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Edward; sons, Travis and Nicholas; granddaughter, Jagger; brothers, Jude, Jerome, Anthony(Sandy), James Jacobi; sisters, Marcella Lenfert (David), Carol Harness (Lon), Ruth Collins (Steve); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Barbara graduated from Floyd Central High School, worked many jobs throughout her life before taking a job at home assembling computer chips so that she could be there for her children and act as a caretaker to her mother until she passed.

Anyone that knew Barbara, knew that she had a very unique personality, and it was that personality that kept her family and neighbors bonded like glue. She loved to help everyone she came in contact with and was a second mom and grandmother to many! She loved gardening and farm life, quilting, and loved to listen to her birds sing and love on her dogs. Her favorite flowers were sunflowers, daisies, and black eyed susans.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Wednesday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church (7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to her church.
