Robert Christopher “Chris” Futral, 62, passed away on September 18, 2025. He was born in Clanton, AL on November 15, 1962 to Bobby and Dawn Futral. After graduating from Chilton County High School in 1981, Chris attended AUM and graduated from Auburn University in 1986 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. While working in the Pulp and Paper industry for over 35 years, Chris and his family lived in Mobile, AL; Alabaster, AL; St. Charles, IL; and Dacula, GA before retiring to Lake Martin in Alexander City, AL. Chris was an active outdoorsman, enjoyed woodworking, boating, hunting trips with dear friends, cooking for his family, and spending time with his loved ones, especially on his family farm.
Chris leaves behind his Mother, Dawn Waters, Clanton; devoted Wife of 37 years, Rebecca Hayden Futral; Son, Barron (Sheilah) Futral, Opelika, AL; Daughter, Hayden Claire Futral, Auburn, AL; Granddaughter, Fallon Raye Futral; Grandson, Stanford Woods “Ford” Futral, born August 13, 2025; Sisters, Ginger (Sam) Head, Jackson’s Gap, AL; Nannette (Monte) Easterling, Clanton, AL, and close extended family.
Preceded in death by Father, William Robert “Bobby” Futral; Step-Father, Yancey Waters.
Chris will be laid to rest in Clanton, AL, surrounded by his family.
The family requests no flowers or donations.
