John Teel Obituary
John Durwood Teel, 88, of Clanton, Alabama passed away November 23, 2025.
He was born December 28, 1936, in Alabama, son of Durwood Alvin Teel and Gladys Willis Teel.
He graduated from Chilton County High School in 1954. He joined the U.S. Navy shortly after and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette M. Teel. He retired from Alabama Power and the National Guard. He enjoyed farming during his retirement years.
Surviving are his Son, John R. (Caroline) Teel, Son, James R. (April) Teel, Daughter, Joy Teel Cleckley, Grandchild, Jerrico T. (Steven) Jones, Grandchild, Timothy (Leann) Teel, Grandchild, Justin R. (Karla) Teel, Grandchild, Hunter (Deanna) Cleckley, Grandchild, Amy (Chance) Calloway, Grandchild, John Will (Samantha) Cleckley, 7 Great-Grandchildren, Sister, Olivia Teel Glass, Sister-in-Law, Scarlett R. Teel, Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Jeanette Mims Teel, Father, Durwood Alvin Teel, Mother, Gladys Willis Teel, Brother, Willis Alvin Teel, Brother-in-Law, Larry Glass.
Friends will be received Friday, November 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Friday, November 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Willis officiating.
Interment will follow in Thorsby Memory Gardens, Thorsby, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The First Baptist Church of Clanton Mission Fund.
