Robert J. Garstka

Robert "Bob" J. Garstka, born on September 18, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on July 27, 2022 in Macomb Township at the age of 69. Beloved Husband of Marilyn. Loving Father of Kristin Garstka and Jonathan (Kelly) Garstka. Proud Grandfather of Benjamin and Alexander. Dear Brother of Carol (the late Tom) Bogdanski.
A De La Salle grad, Bob attended Macomb Community college to get his associates degree and worked for 40 years in process engineering for many of the Big 3 plants. Just children themselves, he married Marilyn on July 7th, 1972 and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary three weeks ago. Strong in his faith, Bob joined the Knights of Columbus at 18 and has been an active member ever since. He's held more positions than one can mention in a short paragraph, but was most proud to serve the community as a member of the 4th degree and Co-chairman for the DAVL. Bob loved people, and a microphone. He was often the center of attention, commanding a room for a meeting, a fundraiser, or even a wedding. He was the person who would talk to strangers in the market and made friends with everyone. He adored telling jokes and helping his kids with projects around the house. He is sadly missed and will be forever in our hearts and memories. Flowers are welcome, or donations in Bob's honor to the Knights of Columbus, Council #7200, St. Isidore.
