B. Robert Gendreau, Jr of Easton MA formerly of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020 with his loving family by his side. Throughout the past few years Bob spent a great deal of time in Easton, MA with his nephew Chris before recently making it his permanent home. It was clear that moving back "home" was where Bob was happiest. He spent most of his time with his family, whether it be a weekend away with his brothers Chris and Al, morning coffees with his brothers and nephew, or a "road trip" with his best buddy (his nephew, Chris Jr.). During the last few years of his life he was so happy and cherished the times he spent surrounded by his family. Mr. Gendreau was a graduate of Stoughton High School, class of 1967 and received his BBA, Bachelor of Business Administration, degree from the University of Texas, Arlington in 1975. After Graduation he worked for the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP) for 7 years where he served as New England District Mgr. for his final 2 years. He switched careers and worked in the Commercial Furniture Industry in Boston, MA & Jacksonville, FL for the past 35 years. In 1995 & 1996 Bob served as the President of the New England, I.B.D. Industry Council. Although he had many interests, namely: Kayaking, Dancing, Wine & Food, Cooking, Music especially Jazz & Blues! Bob felt that one of life's great pleasures was the privilege to travel to many parts of the world. He got to experience a myriad of adventures with people of diverse cultures, learn their varied histories and enjoy the local traditions, foods & wine. Ah yes, the wine! He was a wine aficionado you know?... and proud of it! He visited wineries all over Europe & America! He favored wines from France & California! Over the years he made many trips to various, wine producing areas in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles and Temecula. There was always a great winery, interesting story and excellent restaurant experience waiting to happen! He loved to pair great food, with an exceptional bottle of wine and share them with a group of fun friends, "priceless"! Robert is predeceased by his parents Bertrand Gendreau and Barbara (Kutz) Gendreau. He is also survived by his 3 brothers: Christopher Gendreau of Bridgewater, MA; Albert Gendreau of Easton, MA; Edmond Gendreau, Easton, MA. Bob was also survived by his Nephews and Nieces: Christopher Gendreau, Kelly Passino, Kea Rene Gendreau, Taylor Gendreau, Robert Gendreau, Stephanie Gendreau, Victoria Gendreau, & Kasey Gendreau as well as several grand-nephews and grand-nieces. Services private. Donations in Bob's name may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Clinic, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, 02115

Wow! I've been looking for Robert since the Holidays. We we're friends while he lived here in Jacksonville. I knew something had to be wrong because he always kept in touch with me. I recently became increasingly concerned and then I came across this on Google. I am shocked and saddened that my friend is gone. He was a great man. He will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to the family. I'm so sorry he is gone. :(

My deepest sympathy to Bob's loving family.
I am totally crushed that my dear friend had left this world. I've known Bob for about 13 years. We met in a Salsa dance class in Boston and we became dance partners, then we became good friends. We had dinners and we celebrated each other's birthdays until he moved to Florida with his girlfriend.
We met up once after he moved back from Florida. We texted occasionally. We last greeted each other for Thanksgiving.
Thank you for your friendship. I shall miss you dearly.
Rest in Peace my dear friend!!

I am so bummed over this. Bob and I not only played High School basketball together, but for years after would play the occasional pickup game at the Jones School courts because they had lights to play in the evening. In point of fact, I was his best man for his first wedding. We reconnected a couple of times over the last few years, both at the reunion and out here in California when he was out visiting on business. He will be sorely missed!

I was a classmate at Stoughton High, a quiet ,shy, non-athlete. Bob was popular, but always went out of his way to be friendly and kind to people like me. I hope he knew how much I appreciated him. RIP
