Mr. Robert "Bob" Charles Gerson

Robert "Bob" Charles Gerson, age 80 of Monroe, formerly of Cleveland, OH, passed away March 24th, 2017. Born to the late George and Julia Gerson in Rochester, PA on March 30th, 1936. The family soon moved to Cleveland, OH, where Bob would later meet and marry his wife Patricia Pavlik on September 29th, 1956. In 1966 they moved to Monroe and Bob began working at the Chrysler Trenton Engine Plant, where he continued to work until retiring in 1993. Being that Bob loved to take care of and be around people, he would stay busy after retirement. He spent many years serving the community at the Allore Funeral Home, loved singing in the Barbershop Harmonizers, volunteered many hours at Heartbeat of Monroe, Marian Place of Monroe, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob and his family were longtime parishioners at both St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport and St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Monroe, also serving as cantor. His strong faith would also lead him to obtaining his Pastoral Ministry Certification in 1985. Along with his wife Patricia, Bob also leaves to cherish his memory his children Bruce (Dee) and Brian (Cheryl) Gerson, grandchildren Eric and Bill Gerson, and great grandchildren Cheyenne and Zander Gerson. Also survived by his brother John Gerson and sister Barbara Cartwright. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Alice Wismer, and brothers Norman and George Gerson.
