Obituary of Robert W. Gilmour
Robert W. Gilmour, age 76, passed away on October 31, 2024 at Sanatoga Center. Born on July 3, 1948, to Donald and Edna (Mammele) Gilmour in Philadelphia, PA, Robert spent most of his life in Upper Darby and Limerick, Pennsylvania.
Robert met his wife, Cynthia Mabry (Mosteller) in 1975, began dating in 1992 and they got married on June 6, 2005. Robert proudly served his country as a Navy corpsman. His professional career spanned over four decades at Upjohn, SmithKline Beecham, and Quest Diagnostics where he worked in quality assurance. He retired in 2017 after a career marked by diligence and integrity.
A dog lover and advocate, Robert was the president of both the Penn Treaty and Lenape Bulldog Kennel Clubs and an AKC delegate. His passion for breeding and showing English Bulldogs led him to train and care for some of the finest bulldogs in the country, a pursuit he cherished and excelled at for over 20 years. Under his guidance and care, his bulldogs consistently earned national recognition and respect.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia; his sons, Robert Gilmour, and David (Tina) Gilmour; stepdaughter, Bonnie Baxter (Ernest Conover); and grandchildren, Owen Conover and Caitlin Gilmour. He is predeceased by his parents, and his son, Todd Gilmour.
