Waterford - Robert John "R.J." Golart, 64 of, Waterford, passed away peacefully April 20, 2025, under the care of Hospice. Robert was born in New London, Nov. 17, 1960, the son of Robert and Carol Faraci Golart.

The sentiment, "I keep my circle small and my walls high," is a simple but descriptive look into how R.J. lived his best life. R.J. grew up in New London and attended St. Mary's, Saint Bernard's High School and Thames Valley State Technical College. His private life was extremely important to him. Only those closest to him realized what a talented artist he was. R.J. specialized in constructing intricate models of classic cars. Working on his own automobile provided him with endless hours of pleasure and satisfaction, of a job which was always completed to perfection.

R.J. possessed a great love of nature. Hiking, walking the New London pier and Fort Trumbull and the solitude of Seaside always filled him with peace. His love of animals was second to none, especially the German Shepard. His faith in his Green Bay Packers never wavered! In retrospect, these words by Sylvester McNutt may best describe how he followed life's path: "I am not for everyone. I know my truth, I know who I am; I know what I do and do not bring to the table. I'm not easy to deal with but I do bring tons of value. I bring love and strength, but I am not perfect, and if I don't fit in with a person or group that is okay with me."

In addition to his mother Carol, he is survived by his sons: Michael, Johnathan, Luke and Amanda, and Benjamin; and their mother Karen. His precious grandson Solomon was the light of his life. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Holly; brother-in-law Jeffrey Martin Sr.; and his nephew Jeffrey Martin Jr. R.J. was also blessed by the strong friendship and support of Bobby, Jerome and Eric. He was predeceased by his father Robert Sile; and brother Jeffrey Thomas.

My condolences. I spent many summers with RJ at Gorra Bros. we were sent out many days together on a pickup truck to deliver throughout the region. i saw him through the years as I lost family members at their services. We lost him way too young.

I am so sorry to hear about RJ. I have very fond memories of RJ as a child always laughing and happy. That is the way I will always remember him and hold him in my heart. I remember always asking him to do his "silly laugh" and we all just cracked up laughing over it. I have such cherished memories of you all as we were growing up....
