On May 26, 2025, Robert Martin Gramkowski-known to friends and family simply as Bob-passed away in Camden, New Jersey, the city where his life began on September 16, 1955. Bob was a longtime resident of Collingswood, New Jersey and after 69 years filled with love, laughter, and adventure, he departed this world peacefully, surrounded by the legacy he helped create.
Bob was a man with a quick wit and a big heart. He was married to the love of his life, Vickie Gramkowski, with whom he built a beautiful family. Together they raised three children: Jennifer, their firstborn; Linda, who shares her life with her husband Jeremy; and Robert, who continues the family name with his wife Kathleen. Bob was also a proud grandfather to Dereck, Antonio, Arissa, Mason, and Kyle-each one a bright light in his later years. Bob was also loved and will be missed by his many brothers and sisters and extended family.
He graduated from high school and went on to become a skilled electrician, working for IBEW Local 351. Later, he reinvented himself in the digital age, founding IBMG and becoming a talented computer technician. Whether working with wires or wires of a different kind, Bob had a knack for solving problems and making life easier for others.
Bob's love of life was most evident in his passion for travel. Cruising the open seas and exploring the world brought him immense joy. He was equally at home at the card table, where he blended humor and mischief with a touch of mystery-his own set of rules always seemed to apply. He could make people laugh like no one else, and his sense of humor became part of his legacy.
To say Bob was funny is an understatement-his laughter was a light in every room. He had a spirit for adventure and faced life's challenges with quiet courage and a ready smile. He often reminded those around him, "Life is a grand adventure, or nothing at all," living those words in every moment.
Bob's life touched many others. He wasn't just a father, husband, grandfather, or friend-he was a storyteller, a joker, a fixer, and a dreamer. The people who knew him best will remember his compassion, his zest for life, and the way he made everyone feel a little lighter just by being near.
Though he's no longer with us, Bob's story lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter still echoes in our memories, and his spirit will always be a part of our lives.
Goodbye for now, Bob. You haven't left us-you've simply moved on to the next chapter, where the sky meets the sea. Until we meet again.
And don't forget Herb did it.
