Robert K. Gravener passed away at his home on February 19, 2023. He was 76. Bob was a longtime resident of Southampton and Marlton, N.J. He was the devoted son of the late Eugene and Charlotte (nee Kille) Gravener. Beloved brother of Chuck and his wife, Joan; and Nancy and her husband, Joe Norton. Loving and loved uncle of six nieces and nephews and their spouses, Chuck and Charmaine Gravener, Kelly and Brian McKernan, Laura and Bill Mason, Michael Gravener, Jillian and Jared Jones, and Jenna and Dan Riley. Fourteen great nieces and nephews adored him; Sidney, Tyler, Charmaine, Will, Liam, Kieva, Kylie, Kady, Jackson, Eugene, Colin, Charlotte, Weston and JJ. He is lovingly survived by his cousins, Ken Gravener, Susan Kille, Robert Kille and Mary Jane McLaughlin.
Bob was born in Camden and was a 1964 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. In December 1965, Bob answered the call to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in December 1967. He was a printer and spent his working career at the Courier-Post. He made many friends there and continued those friendships his whole life. He loved his times with the Pooligans and other friends in Leisuretowne, who added to his enjoyment of life. Bob had a love for books and reading but no greater love than his love for his family and spending time with them. He was the repository for family stories. His delightfully sarcastic sense of humor and warm laugh would fill a room. His kindness and generosity were unmatched.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday, March 4, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home, 601 Rt. 73 South at Evesham Road, where a Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to the N.J. State Library Talking Book and Braille Center through njstatelib.org, an organization that supports individuals and families who need a more effective way to read because of blindness, a physical impairment, a reading disability, or a vision impairment.
