Robert Grieve Obituary

Robert was born July 1, 1927, in Flint, to the late Fred and Mary (Hynes) Grieve. He graduated from Flint Technical High School with the class of 1945, and he attended the Flint Junior College where he received his associate degree in electronics. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. On May 7, 1949, Robert married the love of his life, Della Hicks, and together they shared 74 years of marriage. Prior to his retirement, Robert was a supervisor at AC Spark Plug working in the engineering test lab and was the owner of Grieve's TV in Flint. He was very active in the local Genesee County Amateur Radio Club where he was a licensed radio operator and editor of their newsletter with call letters KA8NOG. Robert enjoyed keeping his hands busy with woodworking and tending to his garden during his younger years. Above all, Robert loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished his time with them. He will be truly missed by all. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to McLaren Hospice for their excellent professionalism and care during Robert's final days.
Robert is forever remembered by his loving wife, Della Grieve; Children: Jane (Mark) Smith and Robert (Linda) Grieve; Grandchildren: Heather Grieve, Matthew Smith (Patricia), and Joel Smith; Great Grandchildren: Lucas Grieve and Isaac Grieve; Brother, Richard (Dorothy) Grieve; Granddaughter-in-law, Sara Grieve; Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends.
