Robert H. Hammann, age 90, of Elkhart Lake, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025.
Bob was born on August 30, 1934, in Cudahy, WI, to the late August "Gus" and Ruth (Stuckmann) Hammann. The family moved to Elkhart Lake shortly after Bob's birth.
He attended Elkhart Lake grade schools and graduated from Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School in 1952. Bob attended various mechanical classes in Chicago and worked for his parents' business, Cal & Gus Motors in Elkhart Lake. After his parents retired, Bob became the owner of Cal & Gus Motors, and also was part-owner of Oriole Bus Lines with his brother, Frederick. Oriole Bus Lines served the Elkhart Lake area schools from 1956-1976.
Bob served in the United States Army from 1958-1960, serving in Korea. He was later recalled during the Berlin Crisis and served another year at Ft. Lewis, Washington.
On September 30, 1961, he married Marilyn Hochrein at St. Mary's Church in Sheboygan Falls. They lived in the Elkhart Lake their entire marriage and raised three sons: Brian, Gary, and Paul.
In 2000, Bob retired and enjoyed a lengthy retirement with Marilyn. In his younger years, he enjoyed: bowling, snowmobiling, and racing. After retirement, they delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, enjoyed their grandchildren's sporting events, Nascar racing, and spending winters in Florida for many years.
Bob is survived by: His loving wife, Marilyn; Three sons: Brian (Jeanette) Hammann of Murphy, NC, Gary (Deborah) Hammann of Elkhart Lake, and Paul (Pamela) Hammann of Sheboygan; Five grandchildren: Amanda (Justin) Ehlenbeck, Jennifer (Ben) Miller, Nicolas (Rachel) Hammann, Emily (Fiancé, Tyler Thiesfeldt) Hammann, and Claire Hammann; Five great-grandchildren: Eden, Calla, Mara, Bailey, and Clayton; Sister-in-law, Karen Hammann; As well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by: His parents; Parents-in-law: Ben and Nettie Hochrein; Sister, Ruth (Al) Nacarrato; and Brothers: Frederick (Dorien) Hammann and Richard Hammann.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 10:00am-12:00pm with services and military rites to follow at 12:00pm. Father Subi Thomas will officiate and he will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Robert's name.
