Robert Hammon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, in Mamou, Louisiana, at the age of 66. Robert was born in Ranger, Texas, on Sunday, September 13, 1959, and was a man of many talents and a hard worker who dedicated much of his life to his career in the pool installation industry, serving as a supervisor and working alongside the construction crew.
A devoted family man, Robert cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. He had a zest for life that was evident in his love for the outdoors and the calmness of the country. Robert's warm and loving personality left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Robert met the love of his life, Vicki Hammon, at Lake Hope, and they exchanged vows there in 1982. Their 43 years of marriage were filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they raised two daughters, Brandi Deville and her husband, Tommy of Mamou, and Amber Hammon of Mamou, who carry forward his legacy of family values and love. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Zoe, Emmalee, and Cody Deville, who brought immense joy to his life. Robert's siblings, Mary Jeffers, Traci Richard, Nina Hammon, Buddy Hammon, and Jim Hammon, also carry fond memories of their dear brother.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Peggy Gregorie; his son, Cody Hammon; and his siblings, Ricky Gregorie, Rocky Gregorie, and Donna Bertrand.
He is remembered by all who knew him as a hardworking individual with a loving heart, whose spirit will continue to shine through his family.
Visitation services will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou, Louisiana, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the life of Robert Hammon, a remarkable man who will be greatly missed but forever remembered.
