Robert A. Hanacek, age 77, of Huron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024. He was born on September 8, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Rudolph Hanacek and Genevieve Gumienny, Robert was a beloved and dedicated family man. He was the devoted husband of the late Scherry Hanacek, as well as the cherished father of Sara Oros, Pearl Wiese, Bill Wiese, and stepfather of Gary Cristea.
Robert's legacy lives on through his loving grandchildren: Austin Wirsche, Jordan Wirsche, Tiana Daniels, Caitlin Oros, Aubrey Oros, Sophia Oros, Kortez Wilson, and Tommy Wiese as well as his great-grandson, Jordan Wirsche Jr. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Kaira Wilson.
He was a dear brother to John Hanacek and Gene Hanacek, and he was predeceased by his brother Ken Hanacek (Teresa) and sister-in-law Nancy Hanacek. Robert was a treasured uncle to Dawn Bockwich (Mark), Jill Hanacek (Andy), Michelle Rockwell (Jayson), Jimmy Hanacek (Becky), Kenneth Hanacek, Adam Hanacek, and Eli Hanacek, and a great-uncle to Hope, Bret, Jaxon, Jayce, Izzy, and Colson.
Robert was a proud Army veteran who had a fulfilling career with a gas company, retiring after more than 35 years of dedicated service. He also enjoyed working at fairs, especially at the Shells of the World. Known for his love of hunting, fishing, vacationing in Florida, and traveling, Robert also had a passion for sports, bingo, and spending time with his beloved dog, North.
In his leisure, Robert delighted in watching movies and indulging in his favorite snacks. Above all, he cherished his role as a grandfather, creating countless joyful memories with his family.
