Matthew G. Hanacek

Matthew (Matt) George Hanacek, age 39, died Wednesday, December 13, 2023, unexpectedly. Matt was born July 10, 1984, in Chisago City to Scott and Cindy Hanacek. He graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 2002 and after graduating attended Dunwoody College of Technology for Electrical Construction.
Matt married the love of his life Jessica (Peterson) Hanacek on August 20, 2011, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love. They were blessed with three wonderful daughters, Lucy, Olivia, and Norah. One of his greatest joys was the time he spent being involved in activities and sports his children enjoyed. He was also a very loving son and brother.
Matt was a very dedicated employee as a Designated Representative at 3M center in Oakdale, MN employed by the local 110 electrical union. Matt also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Lindstrom Fire Department.
Matt will always be remembered for being a very loving, caring, giving and supportive father and husband, his memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of family, friends and countless others who had the privilege of knowing him.
Matt was preceded in death by his siblings Michael and Jessica; grandparents Russ Barnes, Ron and Jackie Hanacek; and Uncle Tom Barnes. Matt is survived by his wife Jessica; children Lucy, Olivia, and Norah; parents Scott and Cindy Hanacek; brother Dan Hanacek; grandmother Ruth Ann Barnes; in-laws Dennis and Jeanette Peterson; Sister in-law Jolene (Brian) Nielsen; his nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins.
