Robert James Hardin was born on August 25, 1938 in Long Beach, California and went home to be with the Lord on December 10th, 2024 in Hemet, California. Known to his friends and family as "Jim," he had attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School and served honorably in the United States Army, as well as the United States Army Reserve. Jim was known as a hard worker. Prior to his military service, he worked himself up from paperboy to truck driver at the Long Beach Press Telegram. He also worked in the oil fields at Signal Hill, as well as at Ford Motor Company assembling cars. After his military service, he began a 35 year career at Southern California Gas Company. He was an active member of church, and enjoyed running, Bible study, evangelism, cars, camping, fishing, travel, dining out, barbecuing, as well as family and friends.
Those that knew Jim would tell you he was a kind, thoughtful and generous person. He is survived by his son Andrew Hardin, daughter-in-law Mia Hardin, granddaughters Vanessa Hardin and Angelica Hardin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. He will be greatly missed.
