Here is a heartfelt message you can use or edit however you´d like:

Rest in Peace, Bob.
A kind and loving man who came into our family and never once turned back. From the very beginning, you stood by me through the good times and through the storms. I didn´t know until years later, before my dad passed, that you made him a promise-to always look after me, Cindy, and our families. And you held onto that promise faithfully, with strength, patience, humor, and unconditional love.

Boy, you really didn´t know what you were getting into when you agreed to that, but you showed up every day-with no complaints, no judgment, always seeing the good in every person and every situation. You were a mentor to all of us, a steady place to land, and the most loving "Pappy" to the grandkids.

We are so blessed that you were here long enough to watch the family grow, to see two great-grandbabies come into this world, and to give them memories that will last forever.

You will be deeply missed, more than words can explain. But this is not goodbye-it´s simply, "until we meet again."
We love you. Rest peacefully.

Pappy,

You are someone who set the standards high in everything. You were the true definition of what every man should aspire to be. Whether it came to you being an incredible husband to mawmaw & showing all of us what true love should look like, being the best dad you could be to my mom, being the hero of all "pappys" that all of us grandkids got to know, and my personal favorite title for you..the greatest great grandparent. You gave all of us love so effortlessly & big. We will forever miss you. I hope you´re slinging softballs & golfballs up there. I love you Pappy. Thank you for all the memories, wish we could have had more...I´ll make sure to tell Colson all about them one day.

Bob was a good man. I enjoyed playing softball with him for many years and also playing golf with him on Mondays. Always a gentleman no matter what he was doing. He was one of those special people who will be remembered and thought of often.

Bob was a good friend. I remember him as an athlete who loved and excelled at the games he loved. When his short game in golf was taken from him by Parkinson´s, he taught himself how to chip with one hand which he did proficiently. He continued to excel in softball and was selected as MVP of one of his tournaments a few years ago. He was truly a class act and I am better off for having known him. He will be missed.

I love you, Pappy. The lessons you taught me shaped my life in ways I´ll always be grateful for. You showed me the importance of hard work, learning, and appreciating the gifts that come from both. But just as special were the moments you made everyone laugh, your goofy sense of humor, and the kindness you carried everywhere you went. I´ll always remember those pieces of you. I´ll carry your values forward to my family, and I´ll never forget everything you did for me. I miss you deeply.

Bob and I were teammates on the Carolina Senior Sports senior softball travel team for 10 years. Bob was also my travel buddy and we rode together and roomed together at the travel tournaments that we played throughout the Southeast. Our team won many tournaments and awarded many trophies. On our drives and rooming together I got to know Bob well. We would talk about not just softball but our family and our career and anything else that came up. Bob was a great storyteller and I laughed so hard at his stories that my stomach hurt. Bob was a man of courage, integrity and character and honor. I am very saddened at his passing but look forward to hearing Bob's stories again when we see each other on the other side. RIP my friend.

My grandad, Pappy, a great man with so many talents, but love was always his greatest. He gave it effortlessly and fully, in a way that will stay with me forever. I will always love him, and I will always carry him with me. You will forever be missed but never forgotten. I love you so much, Pappy.
