Robert D. "Bob" Hartnett, Jr., 91, of Lititz passed away Monday, May 19, 2025 at Landis Homes. He was the husband of Patricia E. (Barnhart) Hartnett to whom he was married 69 years.
Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Robert D., Sr. and Mary H. (Gress) Hartnett. Bob graduated from Lebanon High School in 1952 and enlisted in the US Navy in 1953 and served during Korea and was honorably discharged in 1957 as an EM1. He returned to Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 1961. He was a life member of the Annville American Legion and the Federation of Fly Fisherman, member of Trout Unlimited and was an avid fly fisherman, traveling many places to fly fish including Yellowstone National Park. Bob also made his own flies and rods and was a humble man.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son David R. Hartnett; daughters in law Mariea Malec and Cheryl Hartnett, grandchildren Joshua Hartnett, Kendra, wife of Nate Ipsen, Sarai Hartnett, Rebecca Hartnett, Thayne Hartnett and wife Rachel, Duncan Hartnett, Carson Hartnett, Garith Hartnett, Kati, wife of Michael Hall; great-grandchildren Kolby and Hallie and Hartnett great-grandchildren Ava, Ace, Austin, Archer, Ryder and Milo; one sister Pamela Miller. Bob was preceded in death by two sons Stephen T. Hartnett and Michael C. Hartnett and one sister Janet Hartnett.
There will be no services. He will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
