Robert H. Hashinger, Jr., age 70, of Lower Macungie, passed away suddenly on November 8, 2024. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Norma (Swigart) Hashinger. He was the loving husband of Darleen (Landino) Hashinger with whom they shared 46 years of marriage.
He graduated from Swarthmore Highschool, Swarthmore PA, in 1972. He was a longtime member of IBEW Local 654. He spent majority of his career as an Electrical Superintendent for Hatzel & Buehler. Rob served on the apprentice committee at Local 654 for many years. Thankfully, his family encouraged him to take an early retirement and therefore he was able to spend the majority of his days enjoying his boat and fishing with family and friends. He was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
Of his many talents, Rob excelled in anything to do with his hands. He was a superior craftsman and thoroughly enjoyed working on projects with his kids at their homes. His whole world was his children and he was so proud of their accomplishments in their careers. He was a selfless, humble man who deeply cared about everyone. Rob was exceptional and he will never be forgotten.
His most recent favorite role was being "Poppy" to his four grandchildren which he adored. His love and laughter will forever remain in their hearts.
Robert is survived by his wife Darleen Hashinger; daughter, Lori Felicetta, son, Ryan Hashinger and his wife Lydia; and grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Felicetta and Remi and Gracie Hashinger. He is also survived by his sister Lisa (Hashinger) Deveney.
Friends and Family are invited to celebrate the memory of Rob on Friday, November 22, 2024, between 5pm and 8pm at Brookside Country Club, 901 Willow Lane Macungie, PA 18062. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made for the future of his beloved grandchildren.
