Robert J. Heintskill

Robert J. Heintskill, age 81, passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday afternoon, April 25, 2023 at McLaren Bay Region. The son of the late John J. and Julia L. (Sliwinski) Heintskill, Sr., he was born on January 28, 1942 in Bay City. Bob graduated from St. James High School in 1960 and went on to serve his country with the U.S. Air Force. He returned to Bay City and went to work at American Hoist, and then at Bay City Chevrolet where he retired as a timekeeper. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and spending time in Michigan's north country.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Heintskill, in 1977. He is survived by his son, Scott (Heidi) Heintskill; his grandson, Ethan Heintskill; two sisters, Carolyn (Dan) Baxter and Linda (Roger) Gillisse; five brothers, James (Julie) Heintskill, John (Joy) Heintskill, Jr., William (Jane) Heintskill, Thomas (Celeste) Heintskill and Richard (Janice) Heintskill; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was also predeceased by a sister, Arlene (Charles "Vern") Yacks.
At Bob's request, cremation has taken place and a private Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Parish – St. James Church with interment following at Floral Gardens Cemetery. For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be directed to All Saints Parish or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
