Robert E. Hever

Robert E. Hever, 89, was called to the Lord and passed peacefully with loved ones by his side on January 15, 2022 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Venice, FL.
Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 26, 1932 to the late Mary and Albert Hever. He was one of seven siblings. He joined the United States Navy in May 1951 and served for four years during the Korean War. While in the Navy he married Julie Angrason of Richmond Hill, New York. Robert and Julie were married for 46 years before her passing in 2000. They had two daughters - Joanne and Robin. They raised their family, first starting in Queens Village, before moving to Massapequa Park, New York.
Robert's first career was with NBC Studios as a cameraman. He then joined the New York City Fire Department where he served as a firefighter for 30 years before retiring in 1988.
Robert had the good fortune to meet his current wife, Alexandra (Mannarino) in 2001. After a two year courtship, they were married in 2003. They resided in both Melville, New York and Venice Beach, Florida.
Robert enjoyed traveling, reading and the arts. Above all, he was a man of great faith and a devout student of Scripture. He was well loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He will especially be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. His unwavering and steadfast faith in God guided him in his life. He epitomized what it meant to be a peaceful, kind, and loving person.
He is pre-deceased by his siblings Eugene, Denis, Edward, Winnie and Marie. He is survived by his wife, Alexandra; daughters Joanne (Harry) Lisberger; Robin (Tim) Coutu; his brother Bill Hever; his stepchildren: Ronald Mannarino, Ellie (Frank) Lofaro; Robert Mannarino, Richard (Paige) Mannarino, and Michelle Galante. He had sixteen grandchildren: Kristin (Jake) Danielski, Ryan (Nicole Freeman) Coutu, John Lisberger, Paris (James) Foster, Jordan (Priscilla) Lofaro, Capri Lofaro, Zachary Mannarino, Dylan Mannarino, Cameron Mannarino, Richelle Galante, Joseph Galante and Nicole Mannarino. He was delighted to have four great-grandsons; Grayson, James, Jesse and Levi.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date on Long Island, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Robert's favorite charity; The Salvation Army.
