Robert Hollinger of York passed away Dec 12, 2024, at the age of 95. He was the husband of Doris Hollinger. They were married 70 years on March 27.
Bob was the only child of Russell and Eleanor Hollinger of Cottage Place, York, PA. He enlisted and served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving is his wife Doris of York, and their daughter Deborah Rapp and son in law Craig Rapp of South Carolina. He had two grandchildren Meredith Rapp Oxborough of Franklin, TN and Aaron Rapp of Narberth, PA. They have (6) Great Grandchildren.
Bob was an active member of the Antique Car Club of America and enjoyed his prized 1941 Chevy of which he had owned for over 45 years. He also loved his 1929 Model A Touring Ford. Doris and Bob were active in local car clubs. He was an employee of Caterpillar Tractor Co. where he worked over 37 years until his retirement. Additionally his hobbies included participating in road trips with his antique car including a Glidden Tour. He also enjoyed his model trains and set them up for years and years during the holidays to the delight of, first his daughter, and then his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
His kind heart and sweet disposition will be missed by his family. As this generation leaves us, the memories of a different time are slipping away.
Donations may be sent to The American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
There was a private service for the immediate family.
