Robert Huot

OGDENSBURG – Robert J. Huot, 93, of Ogdensburg, passed away on Sunday evening, December 14, 2025 at St. Joseph's Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Notre Dame Church with Reverend Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted under the care and guidance of Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ogdensburg.
Robert was born in Ogdensburg to Joseph and Malvina (Brady) Huot on December 22, 1931. In his early life, he attended OFA, St. Mary's Academy, and Ogdensburg business schools. Later on, he studied at Wadhams Hall Seminary.
He served his country in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne. He also sailed on the Great Lakes, serving aboard the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald with Captain Ernest McSorley before the vessel sank. Robert worked as a recreational therapist at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center on Long Island for 37 years.
On August 13, 1955, he married Ann Hobbs at St. William, The Abbot Catholic Church in Seaford, NY. After their retirement, they moved back to Ogdensburg in February of 1987. Ann predeceased him on December 10, 1997. Robert belonged as a member of the Ogdensburg Elks.
Bob is survived by his many nieces and nephews, being particularly close with Michael & Mary Huot of Dexter, NY. He is predeceased by his wife, two brothers, Raymond Huot and Guy Huot and two sisters, Theresa Schermerhorn and Marguerite C. Huot, and his long-time friend, Joan Clark
