Robert H. Jenkins

Robert H. Jenkins, age 74, of West Grove, PA. died Friday April 11, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Betty Powers Jenkins with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Avondale, he was a son of the late Albert W. and Mary Hodgson Jenkins. Robert was a 1951 graduate of Avon Grove High School. He was a technician for Bell Telephone for many years until his retirement for the now Verizon Company after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Avondale United Methodist Church,the Oxford Hunt Club and served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed traveling and yard work and was know to his family as the �Lawn Ranger� Most of all he enjoyed all children, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had an engaging sense of humor and will be missed by many. Survivors include in addition to his wife, 2 daughters and 1 son; Karen J. Greer and her husband Robert, Gary S. Jenkins and his wife Darlene, and Deborah Dickens and her husband Rick all of West Grove. Three sisters, Katherine Jennings and her husband Jim of Lehigh Acres Florida, Nancy Hedrick and her husband George of Toughkenamon and Mabel Guthrie of Millsboro DE. Six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held 11AM Thursday April 17, 2008 at the Avondale United Methodist Church Third and Chatham Sts. Avondale PA 19311. Family and friends may visit with the family from 7-9PM Wednesday at the Cleveland & Grieco Funeral Home Inc (610-268-2166) 221-223 Pennsylvania Ave. Avondale and from 10-11AM before the service at the church. Interment will be in Kemblesville UMC Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Avondale UMC Church, P.O. Box 114, Avondale.
