Robert "Bob" Alexander Jensen, 79, of Mechanicsville, IA, passed on, with family at his side, on November 7th, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Robert was born on December 1st, 1945, to Robert and Marilyn (McGowan) Jensen in Cedar Rapids, IA. On Robert's fifth birthday, he was gifted with his beloved younger brother Gary. Robert graduated from Washington High School in 1963, went on to work for Collins Rockwell for nine years, and then transitioned to serving as a police officer for CRPD for twenty-five years.

On October 23rd, 1993, Robert and Karen Ann (Waltz) were united in marriage at his parents' home/backyard in Cedar Rapids, IA. Together they raised two beautiful girls, their chocolate labradors Winnie and Wigeon. Robert loved gun collecting, race cars, and motorcycles, and always felt compelled to keep busy, even working briefly at Scheels until he was finally encouraged to retire for good. He never stopped sharing generously his wealth of gun knowledge with anyone.

During retirement, Robert enjoyed researching his genealogy, even as far back to the American Revolution when an ancestor served as a teamster providing supplies to General George Washington.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marilyn Jensen; his first-born son, Robert M. Jensen, and his infant son, Jon Jensen.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Karen Jensen; his daughter, Jennifer Spiker and grandson Sage Spiker, both of Jersey City, NJ; his brother, Gary (Theresa) Jensen of Cedar Rapids, IA, and their children Josh and Alex Jensen and their families; several cousins, and many friends.

Robert was grateful for the dedicated care he was given at home by Mercy Hospice and Cornerstone Care during his lengthy illness.

Any memorials may be directed to the family of Robert A Jensen at Iowa Cremation at 4200 1st Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52402.
