Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Robert Johnston, 79, of Henderson will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Henderson. Interment will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Mr. Johnston passed from this life on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Tyler. He was born April 5, 1946, in Alpena, Michigan to the late Robert Rayfield and Lillian (Enger) Johnston. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years where he was in air traffic control. He would go on to work for ARCO for many years where he retired as an operator. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He spent many years as an active volunteer and coach with the YMCA and the Henderson Soccer Association, gaining many close friends along the way. Mr. Johnston was a devoted member of St. Jude Catholic Church for over 40 years. Throughout his many years of service, he gave his time and heart in countless ways-serving on the Parish Council, faithfully leading as a Knight of Columbus and Grand Knight, and joyfully taking charge of one of the parish's biggest fundraisers at the Syrup Festival, where his turkey leg sales became a tradition we all looked forward to. He also lovingly prepared the delicious coleslaw for the annual Fish Fry, a favorite that brought the parish family together year after year. His dedication, kindness, and faith touched so many lives in the parish and community. He will be deeply missed but always remembered with love, respect, and gratitude. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Linda Johnston of Henderson; children Nicol Griego and husband Lee of Henderson, Keven Johnston and wife Cathy, Matthew Johnston and wife Annie of Sultan, Washington, Michael Johnston and wife Deanna of Tyler, Amantha Johnston of Longview, and Ariane Johnston of Henderson; brother Art Johnston of Henderson; sister Nadyne Ryder of Massachusetts; grandchildren Nicolas Griego, Tabitha Delgado and husband Alan, Tytus Griego, Tessa Dawn and husband Don, Thomas Griego, Mary Griego, Josianne Moore and husband Mason, Lacy Teel and husband C.J., Buddy Beall, Alexandria Johnston, Simon Johnston, Elena Johnston, Leo Johnston, Andre Johnston, Alice Johnston, James Johnston, and Molly Johnston; great-grandchildren Cecilia Griego, Haisley Dawn, Aiden Dawn, Lydia Delgado, Dahlia Delgado, Zoie Teel, Mia Teel, and Briley Teel.
