Robert Stanley Jones, 81, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Bob was born on January 19, 1944 in Massillon, Ohio.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1962 graduate of Washington High School. Bob proudly served our country in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Norma Steyer, from Coshocton County, in 1971 and they shared 54 years of marriage. He retired from Timken Co. following 40 years of service. He loved his dogs, and he was very active over the years at both Massillon Baptist Temple and Pleasant Hill Independent Missionary Baptist Church, before his declining health. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a 'Grandpa' to many of his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jones; sons, Bryon (Stephanie) Jones, and Jonathan Jones; brother, Harry 'Sonny' (Sue) Jones; sister-in-law, Ruthann Bosley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his 'birth mother', Regina Jones, who passed away 8 days after his birth; adopted mother, Helen Wingham; sister, Phyllis Kroeger; and brother-in-law, Gary Bosley.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11 am at the Paquelet Funeral Home: 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646. Pastor Shane Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation hours will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Massillon Baptist Temple or Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. To share a message with Bob's family please sign the online guest book.
