It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Dean Josie, known affectionately as Bob. He passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on April 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Provo, Utah on October 15,1932, to Alex and Irma Josie. He was the only son and had 3 sisters. He graduated from Lincoln High School and earned a degree in Accounting and Business Management from Stevens-Henagar Business College and worked in the Insurance business most of his life.

Bob married the love of his life, Elizabeth Gayle Thorne, on June 4,1957.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bob's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gayle Josie, his children, Linda Buckner (Dave), Melanie Ferguson (Greg), Susan Chase (Jim), and Mark Josie (LeAnn). Bob was a proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren

Bob will be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, generous spirit, and infectious laughter. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings throughout his life. He had a scholarship to play baseball but instead, rather than be drafted, joined the Navy. He served in the Korean war for 4 years and was stationed in Hawaii and printed the Top-Secret Codes for the 7th Fleet Ships.

Bob loved fishing, baseball, golfing, hunting, camping, and traveling the world with his wife. He was always up for an adventure and approached life with enthusiasm. He lived a full and wonderful life.

Funeral Services will be held April 20, 23024, at the Valley View 9th Ward, 1925 East Gunderson Lane, (4101 South) at 10:00 AM. A viewing will be held on April 19th from 6 - 8 pm at the ward house and there will also be a viewing from 9:00 - 9:45 on the 20th prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.

We would like to thank Renew Hospice for the gentle care they gave to Bob when he returned to his home.
