Robert Klosterman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Voss & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services on Dec. 24, 2024.
Robert "Bob" L. Klosterman, of Seymour, Indiana passed away at St. Francis Hospice House with Kim and Chelsey by his side. He fought a long hard battle for years and is now at home in heaven and at peace.
On September 4, 1948 Bob was born to Virgil and Pauline Klosterman. He loved Jackson County so much he never left. He spent his childhood in Dudleytown and moved to Seymour later in life.
On May 20, 1989 Bob married his forever love Kimberly. They were married for 35 wonderful years and spent those years enjoying going to sporting events, bowling tournaments and spending yearly trips in the fall at Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Bob was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He loved the Lord and was steadfast in his faith. As a young child he attended Emmanuel in Dudleytown with his family. He was a member of 4H growing up and then became a member of FFA and received many awards for his achievements. He played dartball for the Dudleytown Mets for many years up to and including this year. He loved keeping the statistics for the league and even though he was not able to play regularly for the last few years, he still went with his team to cheer them on and if needed he would give it a go.
Bob loved bowling and bowled until he was not physically able to do it. Bowling was where he met Kim. They bowled in leagues and tournaments for many years. Bob was a member of the Seymour Bowling Association and served as President, Vice President, Director and Association Manager. He also served as league President and Secretary/Treasurer. Bob was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Men's Association on November 6, 1999 to the Women's Association for Sponsor of the Year on November 6, 2000. Keeping records for the Association and leagues was a hobby for Bob and he did it well! He was passionate in keeping the records for bowlers to see who had won tournaments, held high game/series awards and various other history. Bob along with his wife, Bobby & Retia Murphy (in-laws) and others bowled in state tournaments and the Nationals.
Bob graduated from Seymour High School and continued his education at Purdue University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree on May 10, 1974. After graduation Bob worked for Agri-gold Seed Company before owning and operating Keyline Printing. After he decided to close Keyline, he worked as the office/business manager for Seymour Orthopedics for 15 years. In 2012 Bob retired, but refused to just enjoy life so he worked part-time at Franklin Scrap. Bob finally retired for good and enjoyed time at home with his beloved pets Roxie and Luna until they crossed over the rainbow bridge. He loved dogs so much that it didn't take long for him to have another one. Nell arrived Christmas 2022 and he has loved her since.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kimberly "Kim;" his beautiful daughter, Chelsey Klosterman; sister, Barbara Noble of Geneva, Illinois; brother Dave (Donna) Klosterman of Bradenton, FL; mother-in-law Retia Murphy; sister-in-law Terri (Michael) Brown; sister-in-law Lori (Bob) Nash; several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Pauline Klosterman, father-in-law Bobby Murphy and his brother-in-law Tom Noble.
Visitation will take place from 1-4PM, Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Voss & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour; and from 10-11AM, Monday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274. Rev. Ralph Blomenberg and Rev. Will Fredstrom will officiate a funeral service to follow at 11AM, Monday at the church.
