Mike Edington

Mike Edington, 59, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at Schneck Medical Center.
Mike was born on May 15, 1966, in Seymour, Indiana to the late Oley Jackson Edington and is survived by Phyllis Jean Edington. A graduate of Seymour High School, he spent much of his working life in manufacturing and construction, where his strong work ethic took him to job sites both in Indiana and out of state. Through his work and life, he built deep roots and lasting relationships throughout Seymour, Tampico, Crothersville, and the surrounding communities.
Mike was a friend to many and was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He lived with quiet generosity, offering his time, support, and kindness without hesitation. He deeply enjoyed spending time in nature and found peace in the outdoors, especially through hunting, which was one of his passions and the source of many lifelong friendships. In his free time, Mike enjoyed being in the company of friends, sharing stories, laughter, and companionship that reflected how deeply he cared for those around him. Those who knew him will remember his dependable nature, warm presence, and the genuine care he showed to others throughout his life.
Mike is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, Kaitlynn Edington of Fall Creek, Oregon; his mother, Phyllis Edington of Seymour, Indiana; his brother, Steve Edington (wife Patty), of Seymour, Indiana; and his nephew, Austin Edington (wife Amber) of Huntsville, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oley Edington.
A private family graveside service will be held with internment following at White's Chapel Cemetery in Spraytown.
Memorials may be made to Tampico Christian Church in Crothersville or the American Diabetes Association.
