Robert Lewis Knight, 81, of Boynton Beach Florida passed away on September 3rd, 2023.
LIFE
Born to Odie B. Lee (mother) and Byzz Cox (father) on August 1st, 1942 in West Point, Georgia.
He graduated from Kentucky State University with a Bachelor's Degree.
Being a sports enthusiast Bob developed a passion for golf. Where he spent most of his time on the greens.
Bob never met a stranger and had a brilliant sense of humor.
He served his country in the US Air Force for 4 years. He later met and
married Olivia Borum on March 31st, 1989. After a fulfilling career Bob retired from Bridgestone/Firestone. The demands of his job required travel across the United States and living in multiple cities. Once retired, Bob and Olivia relocated and settled in the sunny State of Florida, where he could play golf all year round.
Bob wanted to share his knowledge and passion for the game of golf with others and worked for the Palm Beach County School District as a teacher and Golf Coach at Boca Raton High School. Affectionately known as "Coach Knight", Bob will be missed.
FAMILY
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Byzz and Odie; Norma Jean Dowell; his brothers Hosea Lee, Robert Lee, Samuel Lee, Danny Lee, John Rowe.
Left to cherish Bob's legacy and memory are his wife Olivia Knight, his son Marcus Glover, 3 grandchildren: Treyvion Glover, Tiarah Glover, Tyler Glover, 3 great grandsons: Brothers Dewett Dowell (Lula), Donald Hall, Michael Dowell, Terry Dowell (Daphne): Sisters Norma Jean McLaughlin, Shar-ron Lee, Carole Lee, Carolyn Lee, Cynthia Payne (Alfred), Pamela Thomas (Robert): Special Cousins Robert and Mildred Williams,.a host of other family and friends.
