TRIPP EARL STEFFEN
Tripp Earl Steffen, born on October 1, 1990, passed away in Durham, North Carolina on September 2, 2025. To those that knew and loved him, he left behind an everlasting impact on their lives and will forever be known as a hero for all he gracefully endured in this life.
Tripp was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up in Weston, Florida for most of his childhood. He attended Tusculum College where he was a pitcher for the baseball team. He later transferred to the University of Central Florida where he met his wife, Christine, and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Tripp worked in the insurance industry as an Underwriting Assistant before being diagnosed with Leukemia in January 2014, when his almost 12-year health battle began. Tripp was incredibly passionate about his Miami Hurricanes football. He loved spending time with his French bulldog, Kane, and enjoyed playing card games, continuous learning and current events. He loved traveling with his family where unforgettable memories were made. Tripp especially enjoyed seeing Disney World through his daughter, Leighton’s eyes.
Tripp was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend, who loved loyally and deeply. His family and friends were blessed to know and love him. Tripp’s sweet demeanor, gentle spirit and quick wit made him easy to love. His grace and kindness, even in the toughest of health battles, will forever be an inspiration to his family and friends. His journey on earth was marked by unconditional love and devotion to his family, unwavering perseverance and his faithfulness to God, even in the storm.
Tripp’s memory will live on forever in those who loved him. Tripp is survived by his wife Christine, his daughter Leighton, his parents Gregg and Sherri, his sister Ashley and his paternal grandmother Mardell. Tripp was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Earl and his maternal grandparents Theo and Mabel Graham.
Tripp’s Celebration of Life will be held on September 20, 2025 at First Baptist Church at Weston – 1420 Indian Trace, Weston, FL 33326. The visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. and a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tripp’s memory to Houses of Hope, an organization within Grey Stone Church that builds homes for transplant patients and their families to live in while receiving medical treatment at Duke University Medical Center.
