Robert Kucay Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Saul Colonial Home on Mar. 11, 2026.
Robert Kucay, 86, of Hamilton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Born on April 2, 1939, in Trenton, New Jersey, Bob lived a full and meaningful life dedicated to his family and his community.

A lifelong carpenter with Carpenters Local 31, Bob took immense pride in his work. His skill and dedication to his trade were evident in every project he undertook. Beyond his professional career, Bob was also a devoted volunteer firefighter with the Nottingham Fire Company, where he selflessly served his community for many years.

Robert was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Kucay; his parents, Victor and Mary; and his sisters, Catherine Grant and Dorothy Provost. He is survived by his son, James Kucay and longtime companion Lynne Hirayama; Susan DiPierro and her husband Stefano DiPierro; as well as two cherished grandchildren, Maximus and Gabriel.

Bob's hobbies reflected his creative spirit and love for adventure. He had a passion for crafting and woodworking projects that brought joy to those around him. He enjoyed doing puzzles, fishing at the Jersey Shore, model railroading, and exploring new places in his RV. Some of his fondest memories were made during RV trips with his family and friends. His adventurous outlook on life was matched only by the kindness he showed as a father, grandfather, and friend.

Bob's love for the Jersey Shore was a constant throughout his life. Whether fishing or simply enjoying the coastal beauty, it was a place where he found peace and happiness. His positive attitude and caring nature left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

May Bob's memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspire others to live with the same kindness and adventurous spirit that defined his life.
