Robert Merton Labor, aged 87, a proud veteran, loving family man, and an individual of remarkable character, passed away on March 9, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Robert was born to the union of Joseph and Frances E. Casella on February 21, 1938, in the tranquil town of Barton, Vermont, where he grew up surrounded by the affection of his family and the serene beauty of his hometown.
With a life defined by service and dedication, Robert retired from an honorable career with the United States Air Force. His commitment to his country was eclipsed only by his devotion to his family. Those who knew him will forever cherish his stirring stories of his time in the service, tales that were infused with wisdom, humor, and a touch of the exciting adventures that shaped him.
Robert's love for life did not end with his military career. He was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider, cherishing the sense of freedom and adventure that came with every ride. His laughter was infectious, his intelligence was revered, and his wit never failed to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. In his better years, Robert could often be found outside, enjoying the simple pleasure of working in his yard, taking pride in the tangible results of his efforts.
Family was the cornerstone of Robert's existence. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathy Labor, with whom he shared a life full of love and happiness. Lisa Labor Brown, and her husband Rickie Brown, will hold onto the teachings and love he bestowed upon them. Robert's role as a grandfather and great-grandfather allowed him to extend his influence, love, and quirky humor to multiple generations, enriching their lives with his unique spirit. Robert also leaves behind his cherished siblings, Jo-Ann Casella and Nancy Scialla, who shared in the joys and sorrows of life with him. His departure marks a poignant moment for his family, yet they take comfort in knowing that he reunited with his beloved wife, Kathy, and his parents, Joseph and Frances.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Robert understood that his life was an embodiment of the qualities that make a person truly memorable. His presence was a beacon of enjoyment, his mind a wellspring of intellect, and his heart, a fountain of fun. Even as his family mourns his passing, they will continue to celebrate the indelible mark he left on their lives.
Robert's life story is a testament to the joy that comes from embracing life's journey with courage, humor, and love. His impact will continue to resonate through the personal and professional relationships he fostered throughout his lifetime.
Robert's family will honor his memory in a private ceremony, cherishing the moments they shared with a man who was truly one of a kind. While they grieve his absence, they take solace in their memories, which will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. Robert Merton Labor, a cherished soul, may have departed from this earthly realm, but the essence of his being will endure in the hearts of all who loved him, through the years and beyond.

Sorry to learn about Bob´s passing. Although he was 20 years older than me we had the same interests and likes ................. swapping military stories, motorcycles and music. He was always there to help you with whatever you needed. I was glad to have known him, worked with him and have him as a friend. He was definitely a quirky character, but in all the best ways.
