Robert T. Lausier, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for over 64 years of Jeannette C. "Janet" (Bergeron) Lausier, who passed in 2023.
Born in Lowell on February 9, 1939, he was the son of the late Edmond and Marie (Mercier) Lausier. He was educated in the Tyngsboro school system and was a graduate of Newbury Junior College. Bob enlisted into the United States Navy and served from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959.
After returning home from the service, Bob and Janet lived in Lowell for many years before he built their home in Tyngsborough and raised their family.
Bob worked as a machine operator for General Electric for over thirty-five years. In 1997, Bob and Janet moved in with their daughter and her family in Westford. They retired in 2001 and enjoyed driving from Westford, MA to Tampa and Bonita Springs, FL for the winter months for more than 20 years.
Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing and reading a good book. He also enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren play in the pool during the summer months and people watching at the mall while his wife shopped.
He is survived by his son Richard and his wife Tilcia Lausier of Tampa, FL, his daughter Linda and her husband Steven Zerbinopolous of Hudson, NH and his daughter Lisa and her husband Ronald Yates of Westford, MA. Seven grandchildren, Erica and her husband James Keeley, Katie and her husband Zachary Hunnewell of Nashua, NH, Christina and her husband Brandon Rossi of Tampa, FL, Justin Zerbinopolous,, of Hudson, NH, Ricky Lausier and his fiancée Morgan Kelley of Tampa, FL, Sydney Yates and Trevor Yates of Westford, MA. Seven great-grandchildren, Alexia, Aubree, Peyton, Mason, Ella, Maverick and Rya; four great great-grandchildren, Paisley, Emma, Ella, Brielle. Five sisters, Lucille and her husband Dan Lavigne of Dracut, Claire and her husband Kevin Bergeron of Nashua, Rita and her husband Mike Clark of Florida, Edna Gauthier of Tyngsborough and Marie and her husband Don Paquette of Alabama; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his three infant children, Joseph, Mary and Karen, his brothers Raymond, Edmond and Thadee Lausier, his sister, Helen Mayall and his granddaughter's late husband Timothy Mercier.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Committal Service with Military Honors on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 12 noon in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Veterans Affairs.
