Raymond R. Lausier

Raymond R. Lausier, 86 of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, August 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Grand Isle, ME, son of the late Thaddie J Lausier and Annie (Bouchard) Lausier. He married the love of his life, Nancy Vashon in May 1959. Ray had been a resident of East Windsor and a member of St Philips Church for 39 years, until he and his wife moved to Windsor Locks, CT in 2001. Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, and their four children. Daughter, Karen and husband, Robert Norton of Somers; son, Cary Lausier and wife Bless of Manteca, CA; daughter, Debra and husband, Donald Whalen of Hartford; daughter, Brenda Schmid of Windsor Locks; eight grandchildren: Kayla, Timothy, Allyssa, Raymond, Jennifer, Joseph, Jericho and Jace; and one great grandson, Rowan. He is also survived by his brothers, Patrick Lausier of South Windsor, James Lausier and wife Betty of Clearbrook, VA; brother-in-law Gene Vashon of Fort Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Raymond is predeceased by brothers, Ferdnand, Maurice, George and wife BettyAnn and sisters, Edmay Daigle, Jeannette Deschenes, Clemence Lavoie, Constance Cyr, Bertha St.Jean, Laurette Doucette; sister-in-law Doris Lausier and brother-in-law Douglas Vashon and wife Linda.
Raymond graduated from Van Buren Boys High School in Van Buren, ME; class of 1956.
He worked for Arrow-Hart and Hegeman in Hartford for seven years (1956-1963) and the US Postal Service at Bradley Int'l Airport as an Air Transportation Specialist for 42 years (1961-2003). Raymond enjoyed doing yard work and took pleasure in going to the casino. He also liked to read and keep up with the daily newspapers. His pastime was to pick up discarded furniture at curbside to refurbish and give away to families in need. Raymond's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the hospice care provided by Masonicare Home Hospice Team, who provided loving and special care.
Calling hours are Wednesday, August 14, 5-7 PM at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 15, at St Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 S. Elm St. Windsor Locks, CT, PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT THE CHURCH. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
