Lillian Earl DiBacco (O'Dell) (94) of Windsor Locks, CT, beloved wife of the late Arthur DiBacco passed away on January 2, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ridgeway, Virginia on March 6, 1930 to the late William and Fanny (Craddock) O'Dell. A graduate of Ridgeway High School in 1947, Lillian lettered in girls' basketball and graduated salutatorian of her class.
Growing up on a family farm, she spent countless hours reading in trees and barns, while sharing chores with her nine sisters and two brothers: Maize, Emma, Edna, Fanny, Rose, Pete, Ann, Virda, Ella, Helen, and Leslie.
After graduating, Lillian was working at Fieldcrest Mills when she met her beloved Arthur. On their very first date he told her he was going to marry her, and it wasn't long before his prediction came true. The two were married on February 8, 1952 in Wilmington, North Carolina, where Arthur was stationed in the Marine Corp. After they were married, Lillian moved to his hometown of Hartford, Connecticut, where they started their family together. Lillian was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and Gigi (great-grandmother). She devoted her life to her family and played an instrumental role in each of her grandchildren's lives.
Lillian's love of reading and studying the word of God was a guiding force in her life. Her devotion to Jesus was evident in her 77-year membership at the Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School and actively participated in various church activities.
Lillian is survived by her three children; Janice Bergeron of West Hartford, Leslie Fahey of Suffield, and Arthur DiBacco Jr. along with his wife Aron of Deerfield, NH, her siblings; Helen and Virda O'Dell of Ridgeway, VA, and sister-in-law Mary O'Dell of Bassett, VA, her six grandchildren; Kimberly, Melissa, Robin, John, Michael, and Kayla, and her eight great grandchildren; Emma, Kaitlyn, Rowan, Theodore, Kennedy, Jordyn, Julia, and James. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur DiBacco Sr., son-in-law Michael Bergeron, and eight sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services are private at the behest of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St Jude's Children's Medical Center (https://www.stjude.org/give.html).

Jan, Leslie and Johnny, So sorry to hear of your Moms passing. My family wanted you all to know that your mom was really special to us. Lil was my mothers best friend and she cherished her friendship. When we lived in Windsor Locks we got to spend a lot of time with her. We took ladies weekends away to New York and Pennsylvania. She was a true , kind and loving person to all who knew her. She will be missed. So glad that she was a part of our lives. The Netolicky Family, Mouse and Mary, the Dyer Family Laura, Bob, Bobby, and Sarah. The Nawracaj Family Debbie and Gene.
